A church as been here since at least 1203. This was originally a chapel which burnt down in 1480, only the font, the base of the tower, and one door surviving. A new church was built in 1483 and restored in 1870.

At 630 feet (191 m), Brant Fell might not be the tallest top in the Lake District, but the views down onto Windermere from here are really great. It is also close to town, so accessible for a quick walk to get some views.

The hike up to Brant Fell is quite easy, though some of the paths may be a bit muddy, especially when it's been raining for a while. The views from the summit are just spectacular.

Nice stroll uphill from Bowness up the Dales Way, add Brant Fell to the circuit and return via Helm Road.

The official start finish marker of the Dales way before heading down into Bowness-on-Windermere Town. Loved these markers - nice to have something official.

Short but sweet, perfect for a family walk or a quick stomp on your own.

Baby carrier and little legs friendly, lots to keep little ones interested.

The views from Brant Fell over Windermere are apparently stunning, the rain and mist meant we didnt see much today but a wonderful walk nevertheless.
Awesome day out on the Komoot and The Wanderlust Women workshop and walk in the Lake District. We were worried about the storm affecting the day but the sun came out and we had THE most amazing day and views. Had such a great day with a wonderful bunch of women and can’t wait to see some of you exploring …
