Winding Road Over East Lothian Moorlands

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Pretty exposed up here, but it’s great road riding, if you can make it on a day with a tailwind!
There are several wide gravel tracks which branch off this road, and look as though they go a long way, it could make for a good adventure in the hills.

Redstone Rigg

Highlight • Climb

Short, sharp climb up Redstone Rig, better as part of longer ride from Edinburgh to Duns.

Steep climb with a cruising descent afterwards. Hard work but great views (and very few cars).

Garleton Hills Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

A reasonably steep climb out from Haddington. First time I found myself going up this I had made the mistake of not stopping for cake in Haddington and was surprised by the ascent and had to drop right down to bottom gear to avoid blowing. Otherwise not a difficult climb although some sections touch 10%
