Nr. Lyngby Beach

Highlight • Beach

At this point stood until the early 70s, an old mill, which was used as a restaurant. She has since fallen victim to the coastal scourge. From the cliff still protrude some supply pipes. Even the old cemetery next to it disappears gradually into the sea.

View of the Lighthouse

Highlight • Viewpoint

The lighthouse is always the highlight here. It's not possible with a racing bike, but the tour along here to Lonstrup alone is an absolute highlight for cycling fans!

The Rubjerg Knude dune with its lighthouse is one of the most scenic destinations in Jutland. On the 50 meter high cliff between Lønstrup and Løkken, a dune up to 25 meters high has formed over a length of almost two kilometers. A good 100 years ago there was little sand at this point. The lighthouse was built in 1900 along with four outbuildings. At that time the tower was 200 meters inland. Over the years the sea got closer to the lighthouse and the dune sand piled higher and higher around the buildings. All attempts to keep the sand away from the tower failed and so the dune grew to a height of 50 meters by 1968. The lighthouse was no longer visible from the sea and its operation was discontinued. In the years that followed, all efforts to curb the growth of the dunes were in vain. In 1990 the area was finally placed under nature protection.

Very tasty burgers and light food with smørebrøt and also fish are served on the outdoor terrace, which is sheltered from the wind and can be covered if necessary, or at some tables inside for guests who are more vulnerable. There are also some very special types of beer to choose from.
In order to secure seats, it is important to reserve in advance, not only in the high season. Finally, (soft) ice cream is also offered here, which can also be obtained from the outside IsBar by walking or driving customers.

At the end of Strandvejen between Café Havblick and Villa Vest, seating was installed at the steeply sloping end behind the new compass mosaic during the redesign. Visitors are given an unobstructed view of Lønstrup's harbor pier and the sea or - depending on the time of day - the sunset from all four benches, which are sheltered from the wind by stone walls.

Lønstrup Harbour

Highlight • Beach

The area around Jammerbucht is also known as the land of light; It owes its name to the special light of the low-lying sun and the charming interplay of colors in the sky. The fishing boats here are smaller than the boats in Løkken and are also pulled to the beach.

This underwater bomb in the colors of the Danebrog is intended to commemorate the naval battles that took place in the Skagerrak during the World Wars. I have known them at this location since the 1980s.
It is not uncommon for children to offer dried sea urchins, other shellfish or pretty stones in a box with a money box at the nearby entrance to the Bækslugten gorge (komoot.com/de-de/highlight/6440148?ref=whd). 😉

This is certainly the quickest way to the lighthouse, but also the most boring. If you want to go to the tower with crowds, this is the place for you. There are also toilets at the parking lot.
