Still powerfully thundering above, the Eifersbach ripples gently down here below. Its water is crystal clear and the walker a welcome companion.

You don't need to make the small swing to Tann. 😉 There used to be a hiking trail there.
But make sure to stop at the Grander Schupf mountain inn. It's worth it 😋. At the moment Mondays and Tuesdays are days off. Here is the current information (it can also be reserved online):

Above the waterfall, some difficult to walk paths, but the lake makes up for the effort! 👍
Be careful, the Berggasthof Grander Schupf is only open from Thursday to Sunday !!!

Unpredictable mountains, weather can change very quickly.
Was supposed to be good weather but day started wet.
We change our plan and was looking for a good walk, something not long not short and interesting for kids to be ok with.
Waterfalls always sounds good.
Planned the hike, packed rucksacks and went for it.
Parked car near ski lift, walked …
Eifersbach Waterfall, Hornblicksee & Refreshment at the Eichenhof

A varied circular hike from St. Johann with wonderful natural moments: The forest path initially leads quite comfortably to the Eifersbach Waterfall – then things get exciting! A steep, root-filled staircase requires surefootedness and a bit of fitness.

The reward at the top is the idyllic Hornblicksee with its fantastic views.

After the family had fully occupied one car, I did not want to drive behind alone as a senior SUV driver, particularly observed by local newspaper reporters, but decided to hike directly from the holiday accommodation to the Eifersbacher waterfalls. It was an easy hike to the bottom of the falls. The ascent at the waterfall is very strenuous. Nevertheless, …

A wonderful hike from St. Johann up to the Eifersbacher waterfall and on to the Hornblicksee. Equally fascinating all-round views of the Wilder Koasa and the Steinplatte or the Kitzbühler Horn. The Jakobskreuz and the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge are also present. The descent takes you to the Grander Schupf. A beautiful, charming restaurant with outdoor seating.

The starting point of today's tour is St. Johann in Tirol.
After the beautiful weekly market we went over the Eifersbach waterfall up to the Hornblicksee. Here there is a beautiful view of the valley and the surrounding mountains such as the Wilder Kaiser and the Kitzbüheler Horn.
Even the sun ☀️ showed up briefly ☺️

Despite the miserable weather, it was a top tour, best not with a stroller or similar, the paths are sometimes very selective
