Abbey Bridge and Weir

Highlight • Historical Site

This gorgeous 18th-century bridge is one of several in the heart of Tavistock but is perhaps the prettiest. The River Tavy rushes underneath to pass down the weir, creating a series of little waterfalls in lush surroundings.

The bridge features both on the Dartmoor Way cycle route and National Cycle Network Route 27.

Rosie's Rascals Café

The coolest bike cafe in Plymouth: serving breakfast, lunch, origin coffee, nice cakes, and ride snacks.

The cafe is adorned with bicycles of many disciplines including some beautiful classic 90s mountain bikes.

With plenty of riders milling around at the weekend you can tell this is destination, start, and the mid point of many a social/cafe ride.

If you've ridden to the cafe naked (again?! what's wrong with you?) fear not as they sell plenty of clothes and riding kit at the back, as well as tubes and the usual repair stuff that can save a ride. Check it out!

Cremyll Ferry

The Cremyll Ferry is a ferry service that carries passengers between Plymouth and the Rame Peninsula in Cornwall. The crossing takes only 8 minutes and is a historic route, used since the 11th century. The ferry departs from Admiral's Hard in Stonehouse and arrives at Cremyll Quay in Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.

Not sure on opening hours, seems to have regular 'chippy' hours. Was busy when I called about 6 pm on a Friday but you can wait inside on a seat in comfort for your order. Small cod and small chip is actually a good light meal which is super-tasty. Best fish I can rem from a chippy in a long time. I think it is takeaway only, see related highlight for 'dining room'.
