Efford Beacon Trig Point

Compass Point is an octagonal storm tower situated high on the cliffs with breathtaking views out to sea. Also known as the ‘Tower of the Winds’, the tower was originally built in the 1830s and was rebuilt in the 1880s to look like the Temple of the Winds, in Athens, Greece.

The Old Laundry

The Old Laundry gives a glimpse into the canal's industrial past. Now self-catering holiday accommodation it was originally a saw mill, used to produce timber for the canal boats.

As the use of canals decreased, the saw mill was repurposed as a laundry for the developing holiday trade. The grade II listed building was converted into four houses in the 1980s.
