Highlight • Historical Site

So many beautiful back streets that are worth meandering around! I much prefer the feel of Petra and smaller places to the larger towns!

Climb to Ermita de Betlem

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

My first and last tour when I am in Mallorca is going to the chapel in the monastery Betlem. Upon arrival: A candle that I am back to health, at the end of the holiday: A candle that I can go home healthy again.

Betlem Hermitage

Highlight • Religious Site

The Betlem hermitage is in one of the quietest areas of Mallorca, located on a balcony with spectacular views and open to the nearby bay of Alcúdia. To get to the hermitage, you have to walk along a beautiful path surrounded by cypress trees. From here, you can access many hiking routes.

Fishermen's Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

On the way of the Ermita Betlém is one of the small colls. A quiet road leads from Artá up to Coll des Pescadors. The following 1.5 km descent takes you to the Ermita Betlém. From there you can cycle back to Artá the same way

The road is now new and you save the descent and the ascent on the main road. But you cycle here pretty much car-free.

The way there via Arta country road. Not nice, but inevitable. Rest of the way beautiful. Only the way back from Petra to Platja de Muro again country road .... Here you can also take the nicer way back via Muro, which extends the tour again.

After two rather gloomy days, the sun shone over Mallorca for the first time today ☀️

However, it also brought a lot of wind with it and since wind speeds of up to 50 km/h and stormy gusts were forecast in the mountain regions, I decided to head towards the east coast or the center of the island. The many …

After yesterday we dutifully stuck to the biblical motto "On the seventh day you shall rest", today we had a very demanding kilometer and altitude menu.
The route over the unfortunately busy MA12 and the "Schweineberg" 🐷 to Artà, further to the Ermita de Betlem and back via the Orange Valley and Petra was a real challenge.
Once you have …

Mallorca grandpas go one better!💪
Road bike tour led through green, fruity landscapes, small picturesque villages and towns. Many mountains and hills were conquered and so in the end it was over 1200 meters in altitude on the bike account.

We had a plan for the tour, the wind didn't know what it wanted...
...very gusty and changeable, felt like it was from the front until km90, but on the home straight it finally came from the southwest!
