St Mary and All Saints' Church, Lambourne

Highlight • Religious Site

Lambourne Church was built in the 12th century, but almost entirely reconstructed in the 13th century. It's a white-painted building with a beautiful weather boarded belfry and a lead covered broach spire that soars out the top.

It's in a really peaceful spot in the rural Essex countryside and in close reach from London.

Nice off road gravel section from Havering-atte-Bower to the entrance of Hainault Forest.

Doable on a road bike but some sections can be muddy.

Lovely gravel track through the forest in Havering Country Park, lined with giant redwoods. Look out for the amazing view of London at the end, too.

Havering Country Park

Highlight • Historical Site

This peaceful country park is the perfect place to go for a quiet stroll. There are giant redwoods here, a rare sight in England and they form a stunning avenue.

The park was originally part of the royal Havering Palace estate and Charles I stayed here in the 17th century. Today, it's simply a glorious place for a walk and the London LOOP path travels through it.
