Hadleigh Castle

Highlight • Viewpoint

You can visit Hadleigh Castle for free and admire the ruins that have succumbed to the soft London clay on which it was built. The castle was first built in the 13th-century, with extensive renovation and expansion in the 14th-century by King Edward III. The Peterboat Pub

Highlight • Pub

It's a lovely pub with nice food and good beer (though very busy on warm days). The views over the estuary are soothing and Old Leigh is just an beautiful, English fisher village with all the trimmings.
