This tour is probably better suited for cycling than for hiking. Long, straight, mostly paved paths with little shade. In summer temperatures it is more of a pain than a pleasure if you want to go hiking.

Lorsch Abbey has been on my wish list for years. After all, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I liked the monastery and the historic old town with street cafes right next to it.
