September 9, 2022,Von Weissenturm nach Mendig zum Lava Dome.
Tested the volcano cycle path. It was a pleasant climb. Unfortunately, the headwind on this tour was pretty strong. So we went up to the Lava Dome in Mendig. It's a beautiful landscape and you hardly know the places you drive through. Then it went back faster on well-travelled country roads. Behind Nickenich we went past a basalt stone factory …

Finally back on the bike again. The Vulkanpark-Radweg (Volcano Park Cycle Path) offered itself as a starting point, as it basically only runs downhill from Mayen to Andernach. The route is signposted with the fiery red Volcano Park mascot "Vulkanius".
