Dobczyce Town Walls

Highlight • Historical Site

Freely accessible, secured and partially restored city walls with a tower and viewing platform.
The city walls of Dobczyce date from the 14th-15th century. They have the floor plan of an irregular pentagon and surrounded the entire hill of the old town. The wall stones were made of local sandstone. The height of the wall is on average 9 m and its thickness is about 2 m.

This Highlight might be one of the nicest in Poland that I have come across. On the one hand, the landscape is just beautiful, on the other hand, it is a calm route. At least it was a calm route when I cycled there. But you should not underestimate the track. It's going up and down the whole time which leads to draining every but of strength of power out of your legs. But it's totally worth it.
