August 19, 2025,Recovery Tour mit meinem Freund Lars nach meinem Ultra rund um die Schlösser von Braunfels 🤩
Today, I spontaneously decided to go on a short tour with my dear friend Lars, which, in terms of the route, was a perfect recovery from the last ultra.

The route itself is simply beautiful to run, with a harmonious mix of easy, moderate climbs and flat sections.

Today we visited the two castles in Phillipstein and Braunfels, namely Braunfels Castle and the Phillipstein ruins.

Due to a lack of time this weekend due to further renovations at our home, we were only able to take a short tour this afternoon, but it was worth it.

Caution! After 6.5 km you have to cross a stream, but it doesn't have a bridge!!! Reached the other bank on a fallen tree.

A nice round trip around Braunfels and Philippstein. The paths are mostly unpaved forest paths and sometimes it can get a little steeper. A good level of fitness is certainly an advantage, but the route is really well suited as an introduction to the hobby of hiking

So just a little tour around home.
Philippstein ruins and Braunfels Castle.

You could call it a two castles tour.

Today we headed toward Braunfels again. A castle tour in Philippstein was scheduled for 2 p.m. We parked at the forest kindergarten in Braunfels to combine it with a hike. We headed toward Tiefenbach, past the former Florentine mine and Bermbach, along beautiful forest paths toward Philippstein.
