Kerkepad Aorendshuus (Voorst–Sinderen Cycle Path)

Kerkepaden (or Church paths so you will) are narrow paths that connect small villages. In the seventeenth century a whole network of these paths got created, mainly in the Achterhoek (an area close to the German border in Gelderland, NL).

People used these tracks as they were the fastest route to the nearest church, hence the name. They often cross fields and small forests. Until late in the 20th century they were hidden tracks until the local government decided to rebuild the paths into a network of narrow, crispy, gravel roads.

This particular one connects Voorst with Sinderen. From Sinderen on you can choose to go into different directions. There are many paths from there on connecting Sinderden to Varsseveld, Aalten, De Heurne and Dinxperlo.
