In the first 10 kilometres, from Scarpizzolo the Strone flows in a north-south direction towards Cadignano, where it is fed by the Roggia Fiumazzo, and then passes with a very tortuous course between Scorzarolo, where it is fed by the Vaso Lusignolo, and Verolavecchia, before reaching Verolanuova. Near the latter, the Gambaresca Roggia enters it. The last 8 kilometers of the river are characterized by a bumpy course and a certain slope. Between Verolanuova and Pontevico, the river penetrates the Vincellate Park, where there is a jump used for the production of hydroelectric energy. At the Cascina Vincellate, the watercourse is diverted with the municipal Seriola of Pontevico, aimed at irrigating the cultivated fields and then penetrating into the town of the same name and flowing into the Oglio.
