The beautiful medieval bridge of Sords, formed by three stone arches, crosses the river Terri on its way through the municipality of Cornellà del Terri.

The newest bridge in Girona, which was built in 1995, by the architects Antoni Blazquez, Lluís Guanter and Pere Solà, connects Passeig de Canalejas with Sant Feliu, Carrer de Calderers and Carrer de la Boat, crossing the Onyar. This is the last bridge over the exclusively pedestrian Onyar in the north direction.
For many visitors, crossing this bridge is the start of their visit to the city's Old Quarter, from the car and bus parking located next to Parc de la Devesa.
The perspective of Girona from this bridge is the most typical: in the foreground, the houses on the river; beyond, the towers of Sant Feliu and the Cathedral. It is also an excellent point of observation of the river fauna of the Onyar: from the emblematic carp or mallard ducks, to the less spectacular species, such as sunfish or gardeners and seagulls and gulls, flying over the space.

Pedret Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Girona is where the Onyar meets the Ter and where there are two rivers, there are also some medieval bridges. This is one of the largest and connects directly in the direction of the old town with all its sights and, particularly exciting for racing cyclists, the cafés.

As it passes through Pla de Can Font, you can enjoy the variety of plants and animals of this typical forest on the banks of the River Ter, in the municipality of Sant Julià de Ramis.

In this place we can find willows with twill (Saponario-salicetum purpurae), which occupy a notable extension, especially in the most frequently flooded places. Apart from the serge, there are other trees typical of the riverside forests, such as the alder (Alnus glutinosa), the black poplar (Populus nigra) or the white willow (Salix alba), etc.

The formation of the lake took place by the collapse of the upper layers of the subsoil, impermeable, inside the cavities that the water formed in the permeable rocks below it.

June 23, 2022,To Banyolés and back
Lovely ride to Banyolés lake and back. Not to much climbing involved. Would recommend to stop in Banyolés lake for a drink and snack and there isnt anywhere on your trip back to Girona. You can swim in the lake if you want which is great for a hot summer day.
January 28, 2022,Hello Girona! ☀️

They paved part of the route that used to be perfect gravel 🤦🏾‍♂️
Today is a “break” with a little trip to explore the surroundings of Girona and Banyoles. The visit to the Rocacorba Cycling center is the highlight of the day 🤩
