September 3, 2021,Weserberglandweg Etappe 1
The first stage of the Weserberglandweg from Hann. Münden to Reinhardshagen. Many small paths, mostly very well signposted. Nevertheless, we got lost once. Overall thumbs up. Let's see if I can still upload photos to the camera in komoot afterwards.

Before the last leaves fall, I wanted to fully enjoy the vibrant colors of autumn one last time. I envisioned deciduous forests and sweeping views of colorful landscapes. The mountains, valleys, and forests of the Weser Uplands offer precisely these autumnal impressions. And according to the weather forecast, the weather should cooperate for the next few days. So, I hopped …

We walked the first part of the Weserberglandweg in the opposite direction. The route is very well signposted and the paths offer variety. Magnificent landscapes and pleasant tranquility in the higher altitudes. After a few days of rain there were a lot of springs and streams along the way and across the way, it's fun.

In glorious weather almost alone through a light-flooded forest. Great impressions and wonderful views. The beautiful day ended in the inn at the ferry in Hemeln on the Weser with the setting sun.

Our multi-day hike begins in the “three rivers city” of Hann. Münden, a city with over 700 half-timbered houses from six centuries.

At the confluence of the Werra and Fulda rivers to the Weser, the Weserberglandweg begins, a nearly 225-kilometer long-distance hiking trail from Hann. Münden to Porta Westfalica.

Whitsun hike with the hiking group, a few stages on the Weserberglandweg.
A real challenge for experienced Nordpfad hikers: the ups and downs are not something you've trained for and take their toll. In the end, the great view from the balcony window of the Weser and the busy life on it makes up for it.

A good year ago I cycled along the Weser Cycle Route along the entire Weser, from the North Sea coast to the Weserbergland (komoot.com/collection/1560051 ) and the closer I got to the latter, the more beautiful it became. 😌
