View of the Alps from Jakobsbaiern

Highlight • Viewpoint

From Piusheim it goes on hardly busy roads high through the forest to Jakobsbaiern. The church itself is no longer in use, but the great view over the valley has remained.

Piusheim Mill

Highlight • Historical Site

As picturesque as it is here, one hardly expects the stories that can be found in the press.
The mill belongs to the Piusheim Educational Home, the history of which is not exactly praiseworthy.
From horror institute etc. Is spoken here in the press.

Former Moosach bei Grafing Station

Highlight • Historical Site

The old railway line from Grafing Bahnhof to Glonn was dismantled in 1973. The main parts of the embankment are still visible and preserved, but more for hikers. Today the Moosach youth meets in the old wagon.
The old train station is now used e.g. for art exhibitions and open air cinema.

St. George's Church, Taglaching

Highlight • Religious Site

According to art historians, the church, which is dedicated to St. George, was built around 1230. It is therefore one of the oldest churches in the Ebersberg area. It was probably built to replace the previous church, a dilapidated wooden building.   It is astonishing that there are two churches in the immediate vicinity, namely in Pullenhofen and Berghofen, that are about the same age. Since local nobles lived in all three villages, it is not entirely unreasonable to think that the construction of a stone church increased the reputation of a place and thus brought prestige to these local nobles.

Wirtshaus Taglaching Beer Garden

Highlight • Restaurant

The tavern with beer garden is located in the town center, right next to the church and offers plenty of shade. A good selection of seasonal and regional dishes is offered. You can find more information at

View of Taglaching

Highlight • Viewpoint

Where the two roads - from Grafing to Moosach and from Alxing to Fürmoosen - cross, is the farming village of Taglaching and the little church of St. Georg, a branch of the parish of Bruck. This place was first mentioned in a document when, under Bishop Atto in 788, the layman Hrodperht and the clergyman Uiliheri bequeathed their inheritance in "Tagaleihhinga", i.e. in Taglaching - the church and the surrounding buildings - to the Bishopric of Freising.

It is definitely worthwhile to spend some time here, to look at the organic farm, to shop in the farm shop, to take a walk or to enjoy a delicious meal in the tavern. But you should already have the big wallet ... 😉 However, it tastes very good! 😋
