Monument of the Mari Martín Pasture

Highlight • Monument

The Mari Martín gully is named as early as 1302 and in its vicinity is
founded in the s. XV the towns of Marimartín and Tiracentenos.

On October 10, 1499, six Segovian neighbors founded the new place
of Navalcarnero. One year later the advantageous conditions offered
had already attracted more than 100 families, but for the population to
prosper, it was essential to have a pasture of its own: a plot of land
community from which hunting, firewood, wild fruits and
pasture for work cattle. This was the pasture of Mari Martín.

It is a narrow gauge railway bridge that belonged to the Madrid-Almorox line (first section from Madrid-Paseo de Extremadura Station to Navalcarnero) with a stop near the bridge at the Colonia Guadarrama halt.
In 2011 the roof was remodeled, covering the gaps in the sleepers with a wooden entablature, being its exclusive use for cyclists and pedestrians within the Vía Verde del Guadarrama.

Iron Bridge of Móstoles

Highlight • Bridge

I've known him for many years. I came to him in my GAC motoretta-2 when he was little.
Now it is restored and the Guadarrama river can be crossed over it with complete tranquility, but before it could only be done through the narrow passage that was on its side. A precarious fence separated you from an imposing fall.

Now it is very neat and allows you to cross the Guadarrama without dismounting, but you should have seen it years ago... :-D

Chopo de Sacedón

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Chopo de Sacedón is the Singular Tree of the Community of Madrid Nº 278.
It has a height of about 32 meters.
Its main singularity is its age: more than 100 years, something strange in this species.
