Obernbreit Town Hall

Extensive renovation in 2003
Until the regional reform, the entire municipal administration resided on the second floor of the building. Afterwards, until the renovation in 2003, there were also the library, the mayor's office and the meeting and wedding hall in the town hall. Serious static problems, the town hall was temporarily closed to the public, made extensive renovation of the house on Breitbach necessary in 2003, during which the historical layout of the rooms was largely restored.

The renovation work took almost two years and cost around 1.3 million euros. The market itself had to shoulder around 370,000 euros of this, the rest came from various subsidies. On April 30, 2006, the time had come: with a big celebration, the people of Obernbreite took back possession of their town hall.

Many events now take place in the community hall on the first floor, the local council regularly meets in the media room on the second floor and the mayor's office is on the ground floor.
