New forest road on the Grasleitensteig

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Here a new forest road was brutally trassed over the beautiful Grasleitensteig. In the steep mountain forest next to it, unfortunately, they can not handle. Alternatively, the unmarked path over the grass ladder head and Grasleitenstein is recommended.

Lenggrieser Hut at the Seekar

Highlight • Mountain Hut

In July 2016, the Lenggrieser Hütte got a new tenant. Very much to the goodwill of the guests. On a cold autumn day we arrived a little later than expected. The landlady said that the kitchen is already closed. The more we radiate, as yet 10 minutes later a very delicious lentil soup was served. In good weather, the sun terrace offers to enjoy the magnificent view of the Karwendel 1338m. Another plus is the year-round opening hours. Very pleasant stay!

Opening hours: Open all year - closed on Tuesdays.

Ridge Trail to Seekarkreuz

Highlight • Trail

Beautiful and super-wide 360 degree panoramic view in all directions. Often a little drafty though. So save your hunger for the delicious Lenggrieser Hütte and reward yourself there! 😉

Very good all-round view and can be reached in about 1/2 hour from the hut.

Seekarkreuz Summit

Highlight • Summit

A popular hiking and scenic mountain. Only when you are almost at the top, the mountain forest clears the view of the surrounding area. The broad ridge leads to the summit cross. The view has it but then. The Zugspitze, the Tegernsee mountains, from the Karwendel to the foothills of the Alps. Impressive, beautiful and a reason to definitely take a longer break here.

Seekarkreuz

Highlight • Summit

A panoramic summit with a view over the Isar Valley. You can reach it from Lenggries either via the Sulzertsteig or the Grasleitensteig. It's also a worthwhile stopover if you're traveling from Schönberg to the Kampen.

Grasleitensteig up and Sulzersteig down, only in front of the summit a bad mud field furrowed by cows. Today a really nice evening atmosphere and no people met. The Lenggrieser hut is open every day!

Today I tried out an alternative ascent to the Seekarkreuz, the unmarked path is called Habichlsteig in Komoot. It's actually quite nice to walk, beautiful mountain forest but also a bit damp (in some places almost "like a stream bed"). There was no panorama today, but there was plenty of fresh and humid air 😉😁 We went back via the …
