Mega fantastic valley to ride with the MTB surrounded by mountains and top places to stop for a break (especially the Black Hut).

Beautiful. I would like to continue driving. I found the visible path to be too narrow, rather than a footpath. Lt. Büchi (Komootnutzer) is not prohibited for bikers.

Black Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Black Hut is the starting point for the alpine hut climbs to the Mindelheimer and Rappenseehütte huts. If you want to go to the southernmost point in Germany, follow the course of the valley even deeper to the end.

Up to the black hut leads a nice tarred road through the Rappenalptal. From here you continue to Schrofenpass, Rappenseehütte or Mindelheimer Hütte.

Melchior had planned a longer tour through and over the side valleys around Oberstdorf for today.

After his first 2,000 HM we cycled a bit from the Renksteg to the black hut... and while WE had a good time there with ☕️ and 🍰, Melchior continued up to the Speicherhütte 😬🙈🤷‍♀️
We accompanied him to the Fellhorn - he then …

Finally we have better weather again, so get on your bike and cycle towards the southernmost point of Germany. It was wonderful.
Unfortunately my cell phone gave up about 10km before the end :-(
Therefore, the last few kilometers were covered without a record.

A lot of cyclists come here, especially e-bikers with hiking gear and drive to the Biber-Alpe and then hike the Haldenwanger Eck, the southernmost point of Germany.

Wonderful tour through the Rappenalptal!! Highly recommended, simply fascinating nature. The last climb is tough again, but the view is worth it! When the weather is nice, probably nothing much more. The last piece to the southernmost end is best done on foot :)

Herbert wanted to go to the southernmost point of Germany and that's where we went today. Up to the Hofhütte Alpe Haldenwang (unattended) there is a long steep climb, but it is manageable. The last stretch to the Speicherhütte was then again so steep that I had to push for a bit. From the Speicherhütte, we then went up on …

After my daughter had already done the tour 3 weeks ago and I wanted to see the marmots, she took me with her today in glorious weather to the Rappenalptal in Oberstdorf. 🌞

From Oberstdorf, from the paid parking lot, we set off on the MTB 🚴🚴
