Church of San Vigilio (Col San Martino)

Highlight • Religious Site

Splendid little church located above the so-called "Riva di San Vigilio", this stone building complete with a bell tower with a clock seems to come from several centuries ago.

Colesie and Col Vinal

Highlight • Summit

Colesie (453 m) and Col Vinal (450 m) are two small grassy peaks (in close sequence) located on the Sentiero delle Vedette, the hilly ridge between Soligo and Col San Martino. They emerge from the vegetation allowing a rare 360 ° view both to the north (from Monte Grappa to Monte Pizzoc) and to the south (from the Venetian lagoon to the Euganean Hills).

On the hill of San Gallo, to the east of the church, stands the Monument of the Aviere: a stylized airplane wing in reinforced concrete surmounted by a bronze statue of the Madonna of Loreto, patroness and protector of aviators. The monument was erected on the initiative of the students of the Quartier del Piave Aeronautical Association on the land donated to the Municipality of Farra di Soligo by the Rigamonti family.

The view from the monument is spectacular at 360 ° and sweeps across the entire valley of the Quartier del Piave, beyond the Montello hill with glimpses, on clear days, to the Venice Lagoon. To the east, north and west the panorama is a natural amphitheater on the Treviso and Belluno Prealps.

San Gallo Hermitage

Highlight • Religious Site

The hermitage of San Gallo is a small religious complex, consisting of a small church with an adjoining house for the hermits, located on the top of the homonymous hill, in the municipality of Farra di Soligo. Starting from 1430, when the friar Egidio di Lombardia chose this place as his home, the church was for a long time a refuge for hermit-keepers. The hermitage can be reached either on foot, along the numerous paths surrounded by vineyards and chestnut woods, or along the road that starts near the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
From the terraced hill on which the hermitage stands, at 363 m above sea level, you can enjoy one of the best views of the Quartier del Piave, the entire Treviso plain and the surrounding hills (for example, Rua di Feletto and Collalto can be distinguished of Susegana, in addition to the long profile of Montello).

Great view of the Vineyards

Highlight • Viewpoint

Collagù is a very small village on the Prosecco hills, above Farra di Soligo. From here you can enjoy a splendid view of the vineyards and the Credazzo Towers.

Collagù

Highlight • Settlement

From time immemorial, perhaps even on the ruins of a Roman altar, there was a small sanctuary here, much frequented by pilgrims from the valley who venerated the Madonna dei Dolori. We also went up to propitiate the crops of the countryside and an abundant harvest. The curious name (Collagù) derives from the pointed shape of the hill adjacent to the sanctuary (colle acu-to). The name is very ancient, and attests settlements since the Bronze Age.

Between the 1700s and 1800s this place was left in abandonment and ruin. In the 1930s, by a vote, the noble Bottari De Castello family had the small church and bell tower built, as we see them now, on tasteful neo-romantic forms, with a splendid fresco on the external portico. In 1932 the relics of Sant'Emilio were placed, the complex was consecrated and dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows.
A beautiful place, isolated, solitary, silent, surrounded by a riot of terraces and vineyards.
