Glattalpsee

Highlight • Lake

Watch out for snow on the shady (right) side of the lake; this can be a bit slippery even in July, but the views around the lake make it worthwhile. When I went there was only only one cable car in operation taking 8 people every 20m, so very slow...

Beautiful and lonely place above the Glattalpsee. Most tourists only go as far as the lake circuit.
(Correction: you are not alone among cows and lots of sheep 😉)
After that it gradually gets steeper towards Ortstock.

A very nice viewing and resting place at 2100 m. From here it is another 600 m to the Ortstock.

short climbing section

Highlight • Climb

On the way from the Furggele Pass to the Ortstock there is a very short climb to tackle. The place is provided with a chain and the rock has good places where you can place the feet. This short climbing site is not located at an exposed point and therefore does not pose a problem and is for climbers trained thanks to the good rock structure without the help of the chain can be overcome. The other ascent / descent is on scree-like ground and requires some surefootedness. The view up is gorgeous, but even on the ascent is fantastic.
The last part of the way from the Glattalp to the pass Ortstock I personally felt more demanding than the ascent from the pass to the Ortstock. The scree underground to the pass height has a neat slope and on the fine gravel it requires good surefootedness.
