Combes-Hautes Dolmen

Also called Pailhès-Nord, this dolmen presents a great regularity in its design, a harmony that does not fail to notice the visitor.
The table and supports provide a nice balance.

This ancient tumulus is located in a pasture. Thank you for respecting the animals that are there and remember to close the barriers properly if you visit it.

Very close to the dolmen you will find a shepherd's shelter and a borie made of local stones.

A fenced meadow with two restored casselles surrounded by traditional dry stone walls. These dry stone huts and walls are common in the Quercy region north of the Lot valley. They were used in the late 18th century and the 19th century by the local (sheep) farmers. Sometimes they served as a chicken coop, sometimes as a storage place for tools and sometimes as a shelter for the animals. The two casselles in this meadow have been very well restored and, in addition to sights, also provide good hiding places.

This tour in the Célé valley shows above all what you can do with stones. Build walls, for whatever reason and for whomever, or erect dolmens or build cayrous as shelters and who knows what else, and a great view over the part of the Célé is always included.

A not too strenuous walking route along old dry stone huts typical of the Quercy region north of the Lot valley. Driving over the limestone plateaus you regularly spot such a hut, but there are a lot of them along this walking route. No two casselles are the same and some are particularly well maintained. The huts were used in …
