From Altenstadt-Höchst in the south to Schlitz in the north of the Vogelsberg volcanic region, the Vulkanradweg runs on fine asphalt and meanders largely on the route of the former Oberwaldbahn through a wonderful open forest and meadow landscape. The largest volcanic massif in Central Europe offers wonderful views of fields, forests and meadows.

Along the Nidda Cycle Path (R4) to Schotten and on to Hoherodskopf. Next stop is Ilbeshausen with the Teufelsmühle (Devil's Mill), and from there, the Volcano Cycle Path leads back home.

Along the way, we occasionally spotted rivulets or even dried-up streambeds of waters originating in the Vogelsberg Mountains. What else will this year bring us?
