February 10, 2025,Koblenz, Deutsches Eck und Erkundungstour durch die Altstadt
Today we took a nice walk through Koblenz. It's a very beautiful old town and there's a lot to see. 👍🏻
The last time we were here was in 2008 when the Rhine was in flames. It was also beautiful but obviously very crowded and we didn't see much of the city then.

Today Chris and I drove to Koblenz on the Rhine. Destination: the Christmas markets there, which, according to the Internet, are among the most beautiful in Rhineland-Palatinate. Of course we went along the Rhine promenade to the city's most famous highlight, the Deutsches Eck. The Rhine and Moselle are currently in flood and the path directly along the jetties and …

We visited Koblenz in wonderful summer weather and took a short tour of the city. We liked it so much that we are very likely to repeat it.

For my dearest wife,
a poem especially for you,
To congratulate you on all you've done - wow!

Together we walked through cities in Germany, large and small,
We have two days
experienced unforgettable adventures, so nice.

Your dedication and perseverance are admirable and great,
Together we achieved every milestone,
not a single bump was too red.

Before I can begin my actual plan for today, I took a quick walk around Koblenz.
A bit cloudy and shady, but dry.

The construction site will probably take a while.
It was there last year.

Nice walk at the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine (Deutsches Eck). After the war the old city was destroyed for 87%.
