From the Gaisberg car park via the Rehbachklamm to the Kaiser-Hochalm. Continue past the Sonnenstein (very sunny) and then steeply up to the Kopfkraxn. Then, after a nice steel cable insured path, continue up to the Sonneck with the Kraiburger Cross.
Descent almost like ascent, with a short beer break at the Kaiser-Hochalm.

It was wonderful weather today, pure sun and very warm. From the Gaisberg car park we went to the Wilder Kaiser on the Kopfkraxen and the Sonneck. A very steep path leads from the Kaiserhochalm to the ridge in front of the Kopfkraxen. Between Kopfkraxen and Sonneck you have to climb down a good bit exposed, but with rope insurance. …
