I decided to take the cable car for the top 400 meters. Safety comes first.
If you want to tackle it, you should definitely wear a helmet.
I left the very last 10 meters to the selfie tourists who climb through the rock in the thinnest of shoes after a long queue.

In part 2 I left most of my equipment and the bike at the Reintalangerhütte and climbed the Zugspitze via the normal route via Knorrhütte and Zugspitzplatt to the Munich house in just under 5 hours.

With that, my goal was to climb the Zugspitze from home within a week using only muscle power.

Day 2 of the Zugspitze tour starts for us at 6:30 a.m. with breakfast. Fresh bread, cheese, sausage, homemade hummus, jam, muesli, coffee and tea... the breakfast at the Reintalangerhütte is sufficient and rich.

We leave at 07:15 to have enough time buffer in the ascent (after all, my father is not the youngest and fastest anymore).
