View from Teufelsloch Rock

Highlight • Viewpoint

A beautiful vantage point: You'll enjoy a fantastic view of the region, with the Danube winding its way through the valley at your feet. Not far from the Teufelsloch rock, you'll find a shelter and a barbecue area.

Ruins of Gebrochen Gutenstein

Highlight • Castle

The castle was originally called Neugutenstein, later called Niedergutenstein. Since its disintegration, the name "broken gutter stone" has prevailed for the plant.

The ruin stands on a spur at the confluence of the Schmeie in the Danube between Inzigkofen and Gutenstein.
The Felsenburg consisted of the Kernburg lying on an isolated rock and a farmyard lying on the adjacent area. On the approximately triangular core castle was the residential tower, from which two-storey remains of the walls were preserved. The lower castle was located in the shelter of a rock overhang. From her only small remnants of the wall remained.

Fürstlicher Park Inzigkofen

Highlight • Forest

Fantastic park with the highlights: Amalienfelsen, suspension bridge, Hermitage and Devil's Bridge. But very crowded on the weekends.

Small rock arch at the Devil's Bridge

Highlight • Natural Monument

I was there on a weekday, because you have the devil bridge to yourself.

Devil's Bridge Inzigkofen

Highlight • Bridge

One of the most striking sights in the Princely Complex is the Devil's Bridge, which is 21.5 meters long and crosses a wild and romantic gorge, the 19.5 meter deep “Höll”.
The wooden bridge constructed when the park was expanded to the west in 1843 was replaced in 1895 by an elegantly curved concrete structure with ascending and descending stairs. The bridge, the name of which probably goes back to the enthusiasm for Switzerland in Romanticism and is derived from the "real" Devil's Bridge at the St. Gotthard Pass, is soon embellished with a legend according to which the builder asked the devil, who was helpful in the bridge construction, to call it in of "wages" was able to outsmart. After passing the bridge, you leave the gorge through a 4 meter long, artificial rock tunnel. The "Höll" below the Teufelsbrücke was accessible in earlier days by an adventurous staircase and footbridge, the "Himmelsleiter".

February 27, 2025,Sigmaringer Geburtstags Runde 🥂🎈🎂🥳
Went on a little birthday tour with Lüüüüüüüdi on her big day😀It was a really lovely day. We had everything from sun, snow, sleet, hail and rain 😅

We wanted to run today, far away from the hustle and bustle at the lake, and also around the well-known parts of the Danube rock paths. We walked a great route (almost as found on Komoot) around the tourist hotspots. That was the best decision.
The start was at the Hofstaettle hiking car park in Gutenstein. You can also start …

One of @Annette wonderful trails, thank you! The Danube near its source, still unusually narrow. And cliffs all around! Beautiful views from above and below!

A great hike in the autumnal Danube Valley 👍😍. Highly recommended, especially at this time of year!

Let's go at the WP-a.d. Bridge. Beautiful tour, mainly on forest and dirt roads, hardly any asphalt. Of course, in the Inzigkofen monastery it is only a few meters to the Amalienfelsen and the Teufelsbrücke. You are welcome to take these with you, but I preferred to avoid the very strong rush. So I was actually alone on my route, …

Staying high was yesterday. What you have, you give. Some beautiful narrow paths with great views.

Very nice autumn round with great views. Leaves rustle under beech trees. Good hiking shoes are recommended in autumn. Smooth rocks and loose stones among the foliage.

Finally another hike in the Danube Valley. I had my grandson with me in the stretcher. (Grandpa weekend)
"Funny", I put the 15 kg lighter away with my children😅😅😅
