Highlight • Monument

Matthias Zágon Hohl-Stein (born 1952 in Koblenz) is a German sculptor, painter and graphic artist.

In 1968 he did an apprenticeship as a locksmith and in 1972 began an apprenticeship as an advertising and lettering painter, in 1976 studying to become an art teacher. From 1978 he worked as a graphic designer at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam. He has been a freelancer since 1987. In 1992 he moved from his studio in Berlin-Wedding to Neuruppin-Karwe, where the artist's workshop and gallery are now located in the Alte Schäferei. Since 2009 he has had a new studio in Lichtenberg.

In 1984 he won first prize in the artist competition "Overcoming the Wall by Painting the Wall".

Great photo opportunity at the lake!

Impressive, Gothic, red-brick church dating from 1246; a pair of new-gothic towers was added 1905-06. Unusually, the nave and aisles run from southwest to northeast, not west-east. The interior is plain brick, with a white, vaulted ceiling.
The enormous oak standing near the northeast corner is also worth a minute.
The “Wichmannlinde” stands nearby in a roundel overlooking the water.

I particularly enjoyed this tour. Great trails, beautiful river and lake scenery. And Neuruppin and Wustrau have some great sights.

On the eastern side of the lake, we walked along narrow paths along the water. Something demanding. Part of the way led over fields. The promenade paths in the Neuruppin area are great. We recommend. Right on the water and partly paved. After Treskow I didn't want to follow Komoot's recommendation but chose a route closer to the water which …

Today day tour 3 from Neuruppin. It is also marked on the map.
Now the sun was shining again and the temperatures were very high
pleasant.
Day tours on the Fontane Cycle Path are circular tours, so the beginning is also the end.
