Panoramic Path Between the Fields

Highlight • Trail

Magnificent view over the adjacent fields. The farmer also thought along and protected the electricity fence against accidental contact with rubber strips.

Parnaß Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The tower consists of a single-storey plinth in brick masonry and an uncovered steel framework tower with a staircase and a viewing platform at a height of 20 m. H. at 85 m above sea level. The tower was built in 1888 by the Plön Beautification Association.
In 1975 the tower was closed for security reasons. After a true-to-factory renovation by the state of Schleswig-Holstein and the city of Plön, it was reopened to the public on July 5, 1985.
Depending on the weather, the Parnassos observation tower is usually open from Easter to the end of October daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Entry is free. Plön and the surrounding lake landscape can be seen from the tower's viewing platform.
On the south side of the tower base there is a memorial for those who fell in the wars from 1848 to 1851 and 1870 to 1871. There are three flat, arched niches with:
an iron cross with the coat of arms of Schleswig-Holstein and the dates 1848 and 1849 (in memory of the Schleswig-Holstein war) and the text: "Up forever ungedeelt!"
a medallion of Kaiser Wilhelm I and the text "To the honorable memory / of those who fell in the battles of 1848-1851 and 1870-1871 / warriors of the Plön district".
an iron cross with a crown, a "W" (for Wilhelm I) and the year 1870 (in memory of the Franco-German War) and the text: "It should be the whole of Germany!"

Dock on Lake Trammersee

Highlight • Lake

Lake Trammer is located north of Plön in the municipalities of Plön and Rathjensdorf. In 2017, the lake was declared a landscape conservation area along with other surrounding areas. It is 163 hectares in size and has a maximum depth of 33.4 m. There are four uninhabited islands of different sizes in the lake, the three largest are called Groter Warder, Ziegen Warder and Bornholts Warder. The islands of Groter Warder and Ziegen Warder are connected by a narrow headland. The lake's shore is 7.9 km long, so the lake is also ideal for walking around. The lake's bathing area is in the middle of Plön. Tip: From the Parnaßturm in Plön you have a great view of Lake Trammer and its islands.

Bathing Area at Trammer See

Highlight • Beach

You can end the day in a relaxed manner at the unguarded bathing area at Trammer Lake in Plön. You should pack barbecue equipment and marshmallows so that you can use the barbecue area and a fire pit. The spacious lawn under old fruit trees offers plenty of space for romping or relaxing. The deep water can be reached via a gently sloping natural sandy beach. The paved entry and exit point next to the beach is interesting for paddlers. The best way to get there is via Rodomstorstraße / Schiffsthal, where you will also find plenty of free parking. Toilets and various playgrounds can be found at the nearby school center.
