Architecturally, Gut Rastorf is one of the flagship properties of Schleswig-Holstein, thanks to its pretty late Baroque style court buildings. They were, as well as the classicistic mansion, damaged in the Second World War by bombs, but then rebuilt by Christiane's father Kuno Graf zu Rantzau with great effort and attention to detail.

Beautifully shady, green, cozy, and quite relaxed because it's not overcrowded: that's the Schwentine Valley. For me, this route is one of my absolute favorites. The area is popular with paddlers and SUPers, horseback riders, and walkers. But if you avoid peak times, you'll have the beautiful landscape to yourself.
There's so much to discover and marvel at.
