A picturesquely situated Masurian lake next to the town of Pisz, surrounded by Piska Forest. The lake will certainly be appreciated by fishermen, because it is well stocked and provides peace and quiet surrounded by the beautiful Masurian nature. There are small islands in the southern part of the basin. On the south-west bank there is the village of Wiartel, and on the south-east bank, there is Wiartel Mały.
Lake area 178.60 ha, maximum depth 29.00 m (average 4.50 m), length 3.91 km, width 0.79 km.
The lake has a very varied shoreline. It is divided into two bodies of water - southern and northern (Przylasek). Two streams flow out of the lake. One, called the Wiartel Channel, flows into Lake Brzozolasek. The second - Wiartelnica flows into Lake Nidzkie in the south-western part.
The waters of the lake abound in various species of fish, including: eels, pike, bream, silver carp, catfish.

June 30, 2024,‪Czaple‬ – wokół jez. Nidzkie (Ruciane -> Krzyże -> Karwica -> Wiartel)

A very unpleasant section from Karwica towards Wiartle. About 7 km of washboard (small humps on the road every 20-30 cm), you have to take spare teeth - it shakes so much.
