Zielona Gora Central Station

Highlight • Rest Area

The restroom, which costs 3 zloty, isn't always open (the schedule is in the photo), so if you really want to go, I don't even know what to do, probably on the way out.

The ticket offices aren't always open either; when they're closed, they're replaced by the box office, where you can buy your ticket.

St. Hedwig Catholic Parish Church

Highlight • Religious Site

An object with history, built on wooden poles near the Zlota Lecza River, with an interesting destiny over the centuries, both architecturally and religiously. A must for tourists and a place of worship for Catholics

Krośnieńska Gate Tower

Highlight • Historical Site

A tower that served as a prison. Today it is easy. It's a pity, because you could do an exhibition here - for example, what the prison looked like back then and under what conditions the prisoners were held.

Kazimierz Lisowski Monument

Highlight • Monument

Kazimierz Lisowski was the son of Roch, a farmer. In his homeland he learned the bodywork trade and was hired in 1890 as a bodywork master for work in the Beuchelta wagon factory in Zielona Góra. There is no news about his previous activities in Poznań. In Zielona Góra, the local factories carried out lively activities among Polish craftsmen, but were dismissed from work by the factory's owner. Around 1892 he opened his own body shop and on August 27, 1898 he founded the Union of Polish Craftsmen in Zielona Góra, which numbered about 60 people at the time of its founding, and Lisowski was its president until his death. Lisowski developed the "Acts of the Society" published in Posen in 1898. The society was founded in accordance with the law, which stipulates that "any spotless Pole can become a member of the society", not just artisans. Lisowski, as president, personally dealt with the distribution of the Polish press from Poznań and ran a Polish library. He was the initiator of the exhibition of Polish pieces, organized academies on the occasion of national holidays, lectures on historical subjects given by Poznań scientists and Polish language courses. After the outbreak of the Wielkopolska Uprising in 1918, Lisowski, along with other Society activists, organized fundraising among the Poles of Zielona Góra, helped smuggle arms to Wielkopolska and helped transfer volunteers. When the German police found traces of the society's underground political activities, Lisowski was forced into hiding until the amnesty in 1921. When a branch of the Polish Association was established in Germany in Zielona Góra on January 2, 1923, Lisowski became vice-president. On the initiative of Kliks and Lisowski, the Zielona Góra branch maintained the 1st district of the Polish Union in Germany in Wrocław.

In 1932 they both tried to set up a Polish school in Zielona Góra, but the German authorities did not agree, even though they had brought a Polish teacher with them. When Hitler came to power, the repression of the police authorities against Lisowski began. They intensified when he opposed the decoration of houses on the occasion of the Nazi holidays.

From a marriage to Berta née Kube, he had two daughters, Helena and Antonina, and a son, Edmund. He died on September 25, 1935 at Gestapo headquarters in Zielona Góra during interrogation, according to the police version of a heart attack.

Very nice house with good acoustics and rich offer! The New Year's concerts are particularly popular, which is why they are booked out very early! Timely information is advised!
