Today we embarked on a day hike from the Neue Bamberger Hütte to the Eastern Salzachgeier. This imposing mountain, reaching a height of 2,466 meters, lies near the border between Tyrol and Salzburg, not far from the source(s) of the Salzach River, which gave Salzburg its name and, at 225 kilometers, is the longest tributary of the Inn River.
