St. Anthony's Church Sennwald

Highlight • Religious Site

Sennwald Catholic Church “St. Anthony's Church since 1973”
The St. Anthony's Church was consecrated on May 27, 1973 by Bishop Josephus Hasler and entrusted to St. Anthony. The architect Hans Morant, St. Gallen, designed it. The four bells were raised by schoolchildren on December 10, 1972. The interior of the church, which is beautifully situated in the countryside, was designed by the Gehr family of artists from Altstätten.
The church is a valued place for many people - not just from our community - to recharge their batteries, to find peace, but also to celebrate and to meet each other and God. Candles are always burning at our patron saint's, “St. Anthony on his walnut tree”. People in all walks of life trust in his intercession. With the construction of the Antoniusstüblis in 2011, another meeting place was added. The parish office is also located there.

Chelenbach, Frümsen
Chelenbach, which originates at around 1450 meters above sea level below the Heierli Nadel. This flows down into the plain of the Rhine Valley to Dornen near Sennwald and then changes its name to the Rhine Valley Inland Canal.
