Adam's Peak is a holy mountain, and Buddha's footprint is said to be at the top. Every Buddhist must climb it once in their life.

Early morning start (met my guide at 1:45am) to climb the 5240 steps to the top in order to get a spot to watch the sunrise. Quick dash to the other side to see the shadow. Back down for breakfast at about 8:15. Brilliant.

Do not go there on Saturdays, we couldn't reach the top and were stuck for 40 minutes about 200m away from the top before deciding to turn back. Path is narrow and only the right lane is for people going up.
