The ride started in Štinjan in perfect weather and clear, fresh air. The route initially led peacefully through the surrounding countryside, then out onto wide gravel tracks into the open Istrian landscape. Olive groves, dry stone walls, and wide open spaces characterized the loop. The surface was easily rideable, with only a few manageable meters of elevation gain.
