Outside of Devizes the canal towpath you'll have the towpath mostly to yourself, otherwise as you go through the town and down Caen Hill Locks there are quite a few people. No problems though, just slow down, ting the bell and greet everyone with a smile and everyone gets along nicely.

From the footpath across the canal, it's easy to admire these fascinating boats and see them putter up and down the waterway. The marina is over 100 moorings as well as several residential moorings. If you're truly captivated, you can even arrange to view narrowboats for sale there.
