Lake Unterbach is located south of Düsseldorf and extends as far as Hilden. It is one of the region's most popular recreational areas and offers a wide range of opportunities for leisure, sports, and relaxation. The circular path around the lake is well-developed and ideal for hiking, walking, or jogging. Along the way, the surroundings alternate between forest, water, reed beds, and meadows – creating a very diverse landscape.

The spacious meadows surrounding the lake are particularly beautiful. In good weather, picnics, games, or simply relaxation are often held here. Many families bring blankets and games – badminton, Frisbee, or soccer are not uncommon.
