Highlight • Cafe

Ballasthoeve is a rustic, old-fashioned café with two terraces and a children's playground. You can enjoy a delicious Belgian beer and/or a cup of coffee with Limburgse vlaai (a type of pie). The café is located in the Limburgse Kempen, a region known for its lush forests, greenery, and nature. Accommodation is available on-site or at the campsite.

Kleine-Brogel Air Base is an active military base that is sometimes visible due to the take-off and landing of fighter jets above the green Limburg landscape. Around the base are quiet roads and cycle paths, where you can occasionally catch a glimpse of impressive aircraft in action.

The military base (Luchtmachtbasis Kleine Brogel) is used by the 10th Squadron (10th Wing) of the Belgian Armed Forces. It is also a NATO base and is also used by the US Air Force.
The main aircraft type is the F-16. In the past, F-104 (Starfighter) were also stationed here.

St. Willibrord Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The predecessor of this church was built in the 14th and 15th centuries. It was a small, two-aisled, Gothic church. The tower dates from the 14th century and the choir from the 16th century. Church and tower were built in marlstone. Later, the southern nave was widened, for which brick was used. In 1925 the nave of this church was demolished and a new church was built at right angles between the choir and the west tower, with a new choir, located on the north side. This neo-Gothic brick cruciform church was designed by Joseph Deré. The old choir, which now serves as a baptistery, and the tower were spared. The foundation of this is of rubble stone, including Maas boulders, and this may come from its 11th-century Romanesque predecessor.

Wedelse Mill (Pelt)

Highlight • Monument

According to some sources, the history of the Wedeler Mühle goes back to the 8th century, which could make it the oldest watermill in the Benelux. However, there are no archaeological finds that would confirm this. Even if the history is ancient, the mill is ultra-modern and contemporary: In 1980, the wooden mill wheel was replaced by a metal wheel and a generator was installed to generate electricity with the mill wheel.

The former mill building of the Wedelse Molen was made of clay and wood and was replaced by the current building in 1765. Today you will find a restaurant in it.
