We took a break today on our way back from the Blaueishütte, and I highly recommend stopping there. Delicious food and incredibly friendly and attentive service. If the journey weren't so long for us, we'd definitely come more often. 🥇

Very nice trail! There are a few tricky spots, the climb to the summit and the summit itself are very airy.

It is nice to see that it still exists, but it's frightening how small it has become.

Had another great tour today. The upper part was a bit challenging.
The strong gusts of wind from the Blaueishütte were unpleasant.
The Hintersee descent was unintentional because we started too early. 10m later would have been the right start. But we were rewarded with a wonderful descent and the enchanted forest at the end of the tour.

The Schärenalm was open for the last time today. The Blaueishütte is open for another week.
Ascent shortened via a partly steep forest path

Fleeing the Champions League final in Munich, my route took me to Berchtersgaden/Ramsau. My destination was the Blaueishütte, and the weather was simply magnificent.

My starting point was the Pfeiffermacherbrücke bridge in Ramsau. This is where the hiking trail to the Blaueishütte begins: Warning: The trail to the Blaueishütte is marked BLUE, but requires surefootedness, hiking poles, and good fitness.

Today we wanted to go on a mountain tour again. So up to the Blaueishütte and after a good break a little further towards the Blaueis Glacier. Above the hut you have a wonderful view 😎 it was worth it and is recommended 👍

I've taken the liberty of including a historical image again. Even the northernmost glacier in the Alps is melting. Where there was a snowfield in 2022, there is now a scree slope.

The plan was actually a nice round towards the suspension bridge and then up to the Halsalm. Since the sky was so beautiful blue and the air so clear, we rescheduled briefly and went up to the Blaueis Hütte. I have to say it went really well, from about 1250 m the first snow could be seen along the way. …

Actually, nice weather was forecast for the afternoon. So we went up to the mountain with a view. But the fog came on the way up and so I couldn't admire the Watzmann and the Hochkaltar and I could only just make out the Blaueis glacier. The path from the Blaueishütte is very well secured. You just have to be …

Today we initially had the Schärtenspitze in mind as our goal. But like most other hikers, we decided to turn back in front of an extremely steep snow slab. We then decided to hike up the 🏔 Steinberg, which was already easily accessible.
When we got to the top …
