Kern-Max-Haus

Highlight • Historical Site

The Kerns-Max-Haus is the oldest house in Blankenloch. The half-timbered house was built in 1603 and originally belonged to the farmer Max Kern.
In 1689 the village was reduced to rubble by the French. Only the church and the so-called Kerns-Max-Haus survived the cremation, the rest was rebuilt.

The house is maintained by the Blankenloch-Büchig local history and museum association. The association restored it from 2008 and turned it into a local history museum.
Due to unresolved questions about fire protection, the house can only be visited on Memorial Day and on the third weekend of Advent.

Diagonally opposite is the evangelical church from 1859 with a beautifully renovated half-timbered house in front of it.
Here in the old center of Blankenloch there are also many well-made information boards about the place and its history.

You can find detailed information about the Kern-Max-Haus here: bauforschung-bw.de/objekt/id/281316099086/kerns-max-haus-in-76297-stutensee-blankenloch
