Esneux Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The first bridge of Esneux was built in 1783 and collapsed a year later. A river crossing was made until a new bridge was built in 1840. Belgian troops blew up this bridge in 1940. To replace the temporary bridge built in 1942, a new bridge was built in 1958. It bears the name **M. Pierre Neuray** in honor of the engineer who had carried out the planning and died during the construction of the structure.

Rond Bâti Forest Clearing

Highlight • Forest

Six paths come together at this place.
The Rond Bâti domain is an old clearing in the Esneux forest, near the municipal border with Anthisnes. The name comes from the round shape of the domain. In Walloon "bâti" means an open space in the forest that facilitates the felling of trees.
In the past, the inhabitants of the neighboring villages could only travel along forest paths and roads through the fields.
By connecting six paths in the middle of the forest, the Rond Bati domain served as a crossroads over the years.
Today the small clearing is a relaxing area where many routes pass through, including GR 57 and GR 576.
