View of Werder

Highlight • Viewpoint

From the bridge you have a clear view of the Havel. In the background you can see the "flower city" Werder. The tower of the Maria Mariastern church towers far up into the sky.

Yes, that is up to the Ketzin ferry with one of the most beautiful sections of the Havel cycle path. Driving on the dam you can see far and there are always plenty of waterfowl to be seen.

September 28, 2022,Potsdam Gruppe: Ketzin & Werder
We start north-west, via Marquardt to Ketzin. Here a picnic at the old train station, not a romantic spot.
A look at the weather conditions suggests plenty of rain and we change the route. Ferry trip across the Havel and to Werder to eat cake. On the west side of Lake Templiner back to Potsdam.

This tour is really beautiful, straight through Potsdam and hardly shared a street with the motor vehicle traffic

A very nice tour in the best weather. The round led us over the Havel dike through untouched nature. From time to time we left the paved bike paths and rode on unpaved paths near the shores of the many lakes. The bike paths are perfect. But there are always sections with powdered sugar sand. No problem with wider tires. …

The battery didn't last as far as Ketzin. On the way at the bicycle god, just before Potsdam, have to stop. Had a breakdown. Top work and top tips for everything to do with bicycles. Thanks again. Thanks also to the Church. It protected from wind and rain. The return from Potsdam was the nicer route. Far away from noisy …

Today we made up for a tour that had fallen victim to the rain during our vacation.
As I already wrote, the area around the Havel River is simply beautiful, and away from the water, time seems to pass more slowly.
We had already visited Paretz Castle on our vacation. Today we had our sights set on the church. The …
