Highlight • Trail

Trailhead of the infamous Slickrock trail. Pit toilets and picnic tables are available. Bring lots of water because there is no drinking water available. The trailhead is located in the Sand Flats Recreation Area. You will find the current entrance fee rates here: blm.gov/visit/slickrock-national-recreation-trail

Slickrock Practice Loop

The Practise Loop will give you a good taste of what the main Slickrock Trail is like. Although the Practise loop is much easier than the main loop, it is not recommended for true beginners. You will tackle some serious obstacles here.

Wind decents through petrified sand dunes, with downhill sections featuring technical drops and sharp turns. The sandstone surface provides incredible traction, making it possible to navigate slopes that seem impossible. However, approach edges carefully and watch out for potholes that could snag your tires.
