Tay Rail Bridge

Highlight • Historical Site

The iconic Tay Bridge, or Tay Rail Bridge, carries the railway over the Firth of Tay in Scotland.

This is the second version of the bridge, as the original collapsed in the late 19th century in a tragic accident during a violent storm.

Tay Rail Bridge

Highlight • Structure

The multiuser path along the Firth of Tay passing the Tay Rail Bridge is a nice ride. The bridge is spectacular and it's nice to have a traffic free trail along the water’s edge.
This is part of the NCN77 route that runs from Dundee to Pitlochry via Perth.

The Riverside Walk is an extension of the Dundee Maritime Trail and takes you from Discovery Point to the infamous Tay Rail Bridge, to Magdalen Green – a nice playpark – and passing Dundee Airport all the way to the Riverside Nature Park. It is paved and flat and a great stroll along Firth of Tay with stunning views.
