Black Moss Pot

Highlight • Gorge

Black Moss Pot is a pool on Langstrath Beck where the water cascades into a small ravine. With high rock walls and a deep pool to jump into, it's is a popular swimming spot, especially in the summer months when the water is warmed considerably on its slow journey along the valley. Just to note, though, the spot is synonymous with skinny dipping.

Rosthwaite Village

Highlight • Pub

Super little village. Very pretty and the start of many walks. Two car parks and a free toilet there. The community hub car park is better value than the National Trust car park for an all day hike at £5 a car. This is unless you are a NT member of course. Some nice pubs and a cafe too.

The Flock-In Tea Room

Highlight • Cafe

This is a tea room I have visited around five times, whenever I'm in Borrowdale! The BEST cheesy crumpets, hot and cold drinks and hearty stews/soups.

Filled my water bottles up with tap water on a 2-week hike. Wonderful views from the garden next to the tea room. Simply wonderful service and quality of food.

Stonethwaite Village

Highlight • Trail

Quaint little village with renowned pub and several hiking trails leading from it. Well worth the visit. Few parking options, so better walk from Rosthwaite.
