Deer Trail (Sentier des Chevreuils) – Parc naturel Burdinale-Mehaigne

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The deer trail is a very bucolic little passage, forbidden to motorcycles and bicycles.
Ambiences of undergrowth in the middle of pastures.
At the beginning of spring it is bordered by small chickweeds, sylvie anemones and other small floral bouquets. Towards the top of the path you can enjoy a beautiful panorama over Fumal.

Huccorgne War Memorial

Highlight • Monument

Along the Méhaigne River, at the bridge between Moha and Huccorgne, stands a small but significant war memorial. It commemorates the inhabitants of the valley hamlet who died during the First and Second World Wars, often civilians and resistance fighters from the immediate area. The Méhaigne Valley was a strategic crossing at the time, leading to regular checks, arrests, and confrontations around the bridge. The simple, understated monument preserves the names of those who lived here and never returned. In its simplicity, it serves as a quiet reminder of a small community that felt the war particularly hard.

Bridge Over the Méhaigne

Highlight • Bridge

This bridge spans the Méhaigne, very pretty there, before passing under the Walloon motorway; next to it, a children's play area, table and picnic bench. Very close to ravel 127

View of Famelette Castle

Highlight • Viewpoint

Probably, originally, one of the outlying fortifications of Moha Castle. In 1234, under Hugues de Pierrepont, Thiry de Lardenois de Famelette was castellan of Moha and this office remained in his descendants in 1441. The allodial lordship of Famelette is held by Colar de Hosden, by succession of Maroie daughter of Thiry Lardenois. In 1558, through the marriage of Catherine de Hosden, it passed to the Berlaymont de Floyon family, who kept the castle until the beginning of the 19th century. Subsequently owned by the Aspremont Lyndens, it was bought around 1878 by the Collinet family. Located on a spur overlooking the Méhaigne, the castle developed around a square keep built in the 14th century, today to the west of the complex. Most of the current buildings date from the mid-16th century. Construction in limestone rubble formerly covered with a pink whitewash. Slate ridge with coyaux and croup. Two hipped dormers, facing out. To the right of the porch, mid-16th century barn wings in limestone rubble. The south-west side of the courtyard is occupied by a large dwelling refitted twice in the 18th century, on a core from the middle of the 16th century.
